Trivia
Tank 8 nutzt als erstes Spiel der Tank-Reihe Mikroprozessoren anstelle einer Logikschaltung zur Steuerung der Panzer im Spiel.

Anekdote eines Entwicklers: Die Atari-Leitung kam zur Mittagszeit gerne in die Entwicklungsabteilung und sah dort den Prototyp des Spiels stehen, der im „Attract Mode“ lief. In diesem Modus fahren und schießen die Panzer von selbst, Ausgang ungewiss. Die Leitung sah zu und begann bald darauf, Wetten darauf abzuschließen, welcher Panzer als nächstes abgeschossen werden würde.
