Bei Pot Shot handelt es sich nicht um ein klassisches Videospiel, sondern um ein sogenanntes „Redemption Game“, ein rein elektromechanisches Spiel. Mit einer kurbelgetriebenen Gatling Gun-Nachbildung wird der Preis, den man haben möchte, mit kleinen Stahlkugeln beschossen, in der Hoffnung, der Preis löst sich vom Träger und rollt zum Ausgabefach. Der Preis kann im Prinzip alles mögliche sein, solange er klein genug ist und sich in eine runde Kugel verpacken lässt. Das empfohlene Gewicht sollte etwa 60 Gramm, die Größe etwa 6 bis 7 cm betragen.
