The Adventure Returns
The player becomes PRINCESS LEIA rocketing through the forest on her SPEEDER BIKE, CHEWBACCA in his SCOUT WALKER, and the heroic LANDO CALRISSIAN in the awesome MILLENIUM FALCON.
As in the movie, the object of the game is to destroy the IMPERIAL DEATH STAR.
The adventure begins as the player guides LEIA through a forest on ENDOR toward the EWOK VILLAGE. During the chase, she must "bump" or shoot pursuing STORMTROOPERS out of her way. Meanwhile, the mischievous EWOKS have set traps to help her – ropes stretched between trees, and logs that can be pushed together to stop the enemy SPEEDER BIKES.
After LEIA reaches the EWOK VILLAGE and joins C-3PO and R2-D2, the player moves to another part of the forest to maneuver CHEWBACCA'S SCOUT WALKER through dangerous rolling logs, catapulted rocks, and relentless enemy SCOUT WALKERS. His objective is to reach the bunker, so that the waiting HAN SOLO can explode it and deactivate the protective shield surrounding the DEATH STAR.
"Split-Wave" Scene 2 and 3
At the same time that CHEWIE is trying for the bunker, LANDO CALRISSIAN is flying the MILLENIUM FALCON towards the DEATH STAR. The "Split-Wave" feature automatically switches back and forth between these two scenes. The player controls CHEWIE in the SCOUT WALKER and LANDO in space – in the same wave!
With the shield down, LANDO can begin his attack run into the DEATH STAR for a shot at the central reactor… but not without dealing first with marauding TIE-FIGHTERS and shuttles.
It's not over yet. Once inside the DEATH STAR, LANDO mus dodge or destroy the TIE-FIGHTERS and other obstacles as he flies through a narrowing tube leading to the reactor. When the target is finally in his sights, the player shoots, turns and flies back out of the tube as quickly as possible to escape the pursuing explosion that can destroy his ship. Then… final victory for the REBEL FORCES as the DEATH STAR explodes into infinity.
After achieving victory in a complete game wave, the player begins a new complete game sequence at the next higher level of play difficulty.
"Today's REBEL FORCES" lists the top 10 scores and player intials for the day.
"All-Time JEDI KNIGHTS" lists the overall top 10 scores and player initials in nonvolatile memory.
In addition, if a player completes all 8 levels in the game, he will receive a special bonus of 100,000 points, plus a message reading "You have completed your JEDI training", and a star will appear next to the player's initials.
Operators may select Easy, Medium or Hard difficulty levels; 3, 4, 5, or 6 player lives; and a Bonus every 30,000; 40,000; or 50,000 points, or No Bonus.
